Turano Georgia Bread, a family-owned bakery with over 60 years of baking tradition, is looking for dependable and mechanically inclined Machine Operators to join our growing team.

Position Overview

Machine Operators are responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and adjusting production and packaging equipment to ensure products meet quality, safety, and production standards. This position plays a key role in keeping our bakery running efficiently while producing high-quality breads and rolls enjoyed by customers nationwide.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust production or packaging equipment
  • Perform equipment changeovers and machine adjustments to maintain efficient production
  • Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with product specifications
  • Complete required production, quality, and process documentation
  • Verify packaging materials, labels, coding, and product counts
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate larger concerns to Maintenance
  • Perform quality checks, including metal detector verification and product inspections
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area
  • Follow all safety, GMP, sanitation, and food safety requirements
  • Work closely with Production, Packaging, Quality, and Maintenance teams to maximize line efficiency

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time
  • Weekend, holiday, and overtime availability required
  • Fast-paced commercial bakery environment
  • Hot production environment
  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds throughout the shift

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One or more years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Bakery or food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production equipment
  • Ability to read production specifications and complete required documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work any assigned shift
