Overnight Direct Support Professional – Chanan Foundation Inc.

At the present time, we are looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of Direct Support Professional in the Residential department of our organization. The right candidates will be responsible for providing compassionate care and assistance to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. If you have prior experience and compassion for working with developmentally disabled adults in a direct care role, we encourage you to apply for this position. Must be able to successfully pass a drug test on site.

Available Shift: Full-Time (36 hours per week)

Overnight Schedule: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights 10pm-10am

Duties:

• Provide supervision and guidance during skill building activities
• Develop and implement individual treatment plans for residents
• Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene
• Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
• Update individual case notes on a daily basis
• Engage individual with the community
• Transport clients to and from the Day Center

Qualifications/Skills:

• Female candidate for female home
• High school or college diploma required
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License
• 2+ years’ experience providing direct care to patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Compassionate about the care and well-being of others
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test on site
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Must be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record

Salary: $14.00/hr with raises at 6 months and 1 year of employment
