The Service Writer is the operational hub of the Service Department
They are the link between the customer, the technicians in the field, and the back-office systems.
This role builds strong customer relationships by managing service requests from intake through completion, accurately developing repair estimates and keeping customer and equipment records current in Company software.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Communication & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for service customers from initial call through job completion.
- Meet with customers (by phone, email) to understand their needs and requirements
- Convey all necessary information regarding costs, parts, work scope with professionalism.
- Contact customers proactively when additional work is identified, communicating scope and added cost before authorization.
Build Estimate and Create Work Orders
- Develop accurate cost estimates including labor hours, parts, freight, and trip charges using the Price Book.
- Prepare repair instructions and enter complete job details in the company’s systems.
- Source and order parts as required, confirming availability and lead times before schedule dates.
Records, Compliance
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer profile information including site contacts, equipment details, and service history.
- Monitor customer records to identify regular scheduled servicing (PMA) and recommended future work; proactively schedule and quote follow-ups.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
