Part-Time Respiratory Therapist – LiveWell Homecare Agency

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in complex clinical situations, primarily in critical care settings. They are responsible for ventilator management, airway procedures, arterial blood gas sampling, and patient education, ensuring high-quality and safe care while promoting evidence-based practices and performance improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered respiratory therapy and collaborate with healthcare teams to develop care plans.
• Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and perform airway interventions such as intubation and extubation.
• Assess patients, verify orders, and document care accurately.
• Educate patients and mentor new staff, students, and peers.
• Support a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, promoting medication safety, and participating in quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT, or RCP.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and computer skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with healthcare professionals.

Additional Duties: Participate in staff development, support invasive and non-invasive procedures, and ensure compliance with policies and standards. The role emphasizes compassionate, team-oriented care aimed at improving patient outcomes.
