SUMMARY
What Chefs Want is a food distribution company, offering chefs the product they want all around the country. Our products include meat, freezer, seafood, produce, and dry goods. Our fairly new warehouse in Atlanta, GA gives everyone an opportunity for growth and career advancement!
Our night production team is responsible for all outbound activities including order fulfillment/selection, replenishments, loading, and shipping. Management and supervisors are responsible for organization, overseeing staff, assisting with warehouse operational processes, and collaboration with fellow warehouse managers. Our goal is to build and maintain a strong, healthy, and positive work environment. And, of course, to WOW chefs!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise a team/department of up to 20 employees by orienting, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Develop team members to meet KPI, attendance, attitude, and work ethic expectations by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
- Collaborate with other department managers on department objectives by contributing to strategic planning, problem solving, and excellent communication; completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures; contributing to the development of order selection, equipment utilization, inventory management, shipping, and employee retention.
- Accomplish maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Collaborate with fellow department managers on obtaining departmental objectives and division goals.
- Responsible for food safety and food handling.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed by operations management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of supervisor/management experience, preferably in a perishable food distribution, retail or wholesale environment.
- Strong attention to detail (both product and systems).
- Strong oral/written communication and leadership skills.
- Strong computer knowledge including MS Office applications.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to learn quickly and effectively.
PROFFERED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related fields.
- Experience with order fulfillment and/or inventory management.
- Experience with order fulfillment or inventory devices, such as zebra scanners, headsets, etc.
- Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
- Experience operating on a conveyor or assembly line.
- Certifications or experience operating forklifts, electric pallet jack, and cherry pickers.
- Experience or ability to work in a cold environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and cold temperatures in warehouse and on loading dock.
- Physical strength to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, reach, squat etc. on a regular basis.
- Good visual acuity to inspect incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Good finger dexterity to input data into inventory records.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour
