Since Al and Jerry Lapin opened the first IHOP in 1958, our restaurants have been the place where people connect over breakfast, enjoy study breaks, grab a bite before or after sporting events, and so much more. Over the last 65 years, we’ve grown into an American icon with more than 1,750 global locations. But one ingredient has remained constant across our menu – a smile.

We’re in the business of spreading joy, and our Team Members and Franchisees are a key ingredient in our recipe. We believe they are each one in a million – just like our Buttermilk Pancakes! Since 2006, we’ve raised more than $30 million for our local charity partners through our annual National Pancake Day.
